Christmas list

It is December 22 and you have not started

What you actually need for christmas list — 5 things to cover, each with a pick.

As an Amazon Associate, ReadyHarbor earns from qualifying purchases.

A gift set that is actually one good thing

Late shopping pushes people toward big cheap bundles. A single good item in a category someone already likes reads as considered; a twelve-piece novelty set reads as panic.

What to check
  • Check the reviews mention the main item rather than the packaging
  • If the listing photo is mostly box, it is mostly box

3 options — pick the one that fits, then tap through for the current price on Amazon.

Something consumable for the hard people

For anyone who has everything, the safe answer is something good that gets used up. Nobody has to find a shelf for it and nobody has to pretend.

What to check
  • Check the dietary basics if it is food or drink, and check the use-by date is not the reason it is on offer

3 options — pick the one that fits, then tap through for the current price on Amazon.

Gift cards that do not look like an afterthought

A card in an envelope reads as forgotten. The same card in a proper presentation box reads as chosen, and it is a two-pound difference.

What to check
  • Check the card works where the person actually shops, and buy the presentation sleeve at the same time so it arrives together

3 options — pick the one that fits, then tap through for the current price on Amazon.

Wrapping paper, tape and tags in one go

This is the thing everybody forgets and it is the thing that is sold out on the 23rd. Wrapping is also what makes a late gift look on time.

What to check
  • Check the roll length against how many gifts you have
  • Heavier paper tears less, which matters if you are wrapping fast and late at night

3 options — pick the one that fits, then tap through for the current price on Amazon.

Batteries

Every year something arrives that needs them and every year the shops are shut. It is the smallest item on this list and the most reliably needed.

What to check
  • Check which sizes the gifts actually take before buying a multipack of the wrong one
  • AA and AAA cover most of it

3 options — pick the one that fits, then tap through for the current price on Amazon.
